A debut solo exhibition bringing together fifteen new figurative paintings made between 2024 and 2025. Sovereign Interiors takes its title from the idea of the body as a space of governance: a site in which Black women exercise complete authority over how they are perceived, remembered, and rendered in paint.

Critical Response
Adjei's women do not ask to be looked at; they tolerate it. That distinction is everything. The gaze in his paintings moves outward with the authority of someone who has already decided what they are worth.
